As all Graupners models from Premium line and ready to run models are made in China, this submarine is made there too. On the pictue looks good, but reality will be different.

I don't see any ballast system or even dive planes in the controls.
Just rudder and motor.
Although my German is not that good. Dave.

the KYmodel website does show a picture of two Engel piston tanks here:

http://www.kymodelship.com/proshow.a...Inf&UserName=#

at 1/46 scale, there should be plenty of space inside to accommodate a double piston tank design.

First thing you'll want to do is sand off all those oversized welds & add some realistic details. It was previewed last June on the rcboot forum:

http://www.rcboot.de/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3324

I sat with KY's owner a few years ago when he was working on this & a few other subs for Graupner. It was meant to be a fully functioning sub & was designed to make inroads into what was viewed as a niche market by Graupner.

If they are already selling direct, I'd say that exclusive they had has gone out the window.

It's possible to read the page in english. Only motors and surface controls installed. Ballast systems is everyone's choice.

Unless things have changed, this will be your only US supplier:

Looks like it will be available next month.

So, can anyone tell what the difference is between the HK7001 and the HK7002?

No difference - its one & same & probably just a mistake on the KY website.

My guess is someone jumped the gun since KY was developing 3 subs for Graupner so I would not be surprised if an earlier Type VII/C appears later in the year followed by another model at the next Nuremberg show.
