Did pretty good this afternoon in the wind with it, but just took it to Lake Park and flew and trashed it. Snapped the Tail Boom off again. Broke off two canopy posts. It got beside me right off the end of the antenna and went nuts, tumbled and dropped hard. Everyone telling me to put a 2mm Solid CF Tail Boom on it and problems solved with breakage. I think my CF rod is 3mm.

The good news is, I went and took out my anger on the 57 SC for three more flights. I hope I got the 3rd one all framed in, cause it was Angry!

Here's my (improved) flying at the school after inputting Hugo's Pitch Curve.

I kept breaking tail booms on mine at first too. Then I bought a solid (and extended) tail boom from Asteroid Designs and I quit breaking them. I also happened to sort of get the hang of flying helis at that same time so who knows...

Question for you all.

I need to replace all the motor box parts on a 59 slick I bought. I'm getting the box tomorrow and I removed almost all the parts today. How would I go about getting the covering detached from the balsa, without ripping it up and having to recover it? Particularly from the top of the area that is exposed when you take off the canopy. (if that makes sense)

This is the first major balsa repair I've ever had to do.

Thanks

Careful application of heat from an iron. Heat seals Ultracote, but also releases the adhesive. Just be careful and do it slow...

Yep, even got to fly one in Hawaii. ASK-21 at Dillingham. My buddy used to give rides there.
