I X them with a pair of old dykes that I put tape on the blades so it wouldn't actually cut. Either way really doesn't really matter as long as you ADD CA

I don't smash mine either, couple crimps, maybe some CA but lately not. The loop is designed to take all the load, the crimp keeps things in check.

A little work and I can uncrimp. But I've only had to uncrimp the 51. I put the adjustments in the middle so I have some room to tighten....which usually needs to happed after a few flights.

Here are pics, etc of the thrust angle issue I was talking about...

One thing I did on the last pull-pull, was to crimp both ends, and had only screwed the ball links in part way while setting up the other end. Then I adjusted the ball links so that the other end barely fit all the way through the servo swivels. I also tightened the cable up just a little extra. By time I got to maiden, the cable had stretched to a point where it was not taught anymore. This also still leaves me full adjustment potential on the servo end. I CA'd the ball link end where it screws in to the ball link. After I had an aileron pull out after a couple flights, I always CA these now. I also believe that I will replace the ball links with the beefier Dubro's from now on as well. Likely over kill, but after loosing that aileron surface in air, I'm not taking changes on a surface that is more critical like rudder, or even worse, elevator.

Kinda bummed I am going to Houston for 3 weeks and won't really be doing any flying or building or tinkering with airplanes.

I smash flat with small ViseGrips and CA and I have still undone them by squeezing on the edge, working along it with needle nose or same ViseGrip. CA cracks and shatters off. Tube opens up enough to change it. Even reused the same tube and resmashed and CA'd.

omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! dude my mom is being lazy and wont vid tape my sweetness i am having right now hover tail touches just became really easy so are KE spins but i cant even hold a KE because i dont have any mixes and it pulls tarwds the wheels.
