Well, almost 2 years after its crash, I finally remaidened my old 47" edge today. It flies again ..... lol. Went to go maiden it yesterday, got to the field and did my preflight check and noticed the elevator servo would only go up, it wouldn't give me any down. Swapped that out today and voila, success! That plane has seen so much abuse. Hopefully it lives long enough to attempt the kiddie pool at the Fly Low In East again this year!
On a side note, I got some flights in both yesterday and today, and I found it interesting that on both days, I got spectators that were genuinely interested (of course asking the normal questions), but here is the interesting part, they were all girls about 10-13 yrs old. There were boys around the school, but it was the girls that came to watch. Its funny to think of how different this hobby might be in 10 years. I hope that the AMA is already on to this and trying to attract those that might want to get into the hobby.
