Max on the 3010B is 30A, that makes the charger rating under 670W on 6s and under 450W max for 4s. So to get the 1000W that it is rated for you need to be charging 9s or higher at almost 30A. In other words it is a 670W charger at 6s and a 445W charger on 4S... And max 500W on any batt with a 12V power source.

Nice flying Wamsy.

On a different note, today was a productive day (I hope). I was able to piece together the motor box to my old 47" edge (without a motor box kit). It's all back together, but with 40mph gusts, there was no way I was going to try a remaiden. 2 years to do a rebuild, not so bad .... lol.

Hopefully it flies decently as it was thoroughly destroyed. lol

will there be any "goodies" at the WRAM show? I plan on stopping by ... I need a new 48-in airframe, and could be tempted with a new velox, and I really need an Omega 130 motor adapter BAD. That's just for starters.

400W/120V= 3.33Amps@ 120V so it just over 20% of what a household outlet would handle. So at 400W you could charge 6s batts at 400W/22.2V=18A x 70% efficiency = 12.5A safely.
4S would be 400W/14.8V=27A X 70% efficiency = 18.9A.

So I wouldn't charge greater then 19 amps on 4s or 12.5 amps on 6s... Hope this helps.
If I'm parallel charging 2 4s batteries I assume the voltage in your formula still stays at 14.8V?

I am running HS-225's on the tail and they have been great, but on the ailerons I have been through 225's and HS-5245's. Some have lasted 20 flights, some have lasted one or two.

The plane with the Motrofly motor is so sweet though. I need to order another motor for my 71" but I just need to get around to fixing it first.

nope you should be able to parallel any amount of 4s batts at W(watts your system is rated for) / V (nominal voltage of pack...in your case 14.8V for a 4s) = A (amps you will be setting)

In other words... in your car 400W / 14.8V = 27A. Remember your efficiency will be around 70% with that system so 27A x .70 =18.9A safely no matter how many packs you have in parallel. 6s @ 22.2V your gonna be restricted to about 12.5 amps no matter how many packs you have hooked up.

At you house if you have a 24V power supply you are regulated by your 30A built in limit of the charger.
