Only reason I complained, is there is someone already screaming about how dangerous it is.
And that is why "the professionals" do it, which includes practicing it a lot before doing it in front of crowds of people.

I'll see if I can dig up the other link.

Did someone get pissed at the first pilot to do a loop back in the day? First wing walker?

It was planned and they were practicing. NOT the same thing as the 126 incident.
That happened in Texas, here is another link

Talked to my Dad who works for the FAA (manufacturing, so not related to this incident) and he said there will be some ramifications.

Every battery chemistry out there that I can think of is affected by temperature and changes in temperature. If it is really cold you you can expect a little less voltage and shorter flight times. Lots of people try to keep their batteries warm till they fly them just to get as much out of them as possible. If you are using a LiFe pack for an rx and servo power just keep in mind that you should probably be a little more cautious on the number of flights and check the voltage more often.

The laws of physics state that all chemical reactions slow with reduction in temperature. All current batteries are powered by chemical reactions.

Ok im using LiFe for RX power so i'll check the voltage after my first flight

That's good. My view it should either be at 52" or above, or down to 48", so as to not preclude other popular 3D airframe manacturers. If too popular, entry can be limited by submission of uncut 3:00 minute video, with no points docked for video quality (e.g., allow the kids to use their shaky iphones or gopros to submit entry video).

I think it is going to be a 50"-7x" event, at one of the FLI events. I have nothing to do with the "setup" of the event, but those are some good ideas for IF this event "takes off" in the future.

anthony7820, I think a small 3D competition will take off. Especially with young kids getting into RC, following in the footsteps of people like Joe Smith (in his youth), Daniel Holeman (in his youth), Jase Dussia, and Justin Gee demonstrating what the reflexes of young brains and stick time can do.

Young guys if given the opportunity just learn a whole lot faster.

But I still think going down to 48" or even 42", which is not a cheap plane to a young person, if set up well, would be better. Or 52" and above. I'm not sure what the wingspan of a 48" MXS is with the racing wing tips on is--it might make the 50" mark--but I do know for 3D I like to take the racing wing tips off. Just one person's view.

As for borrowing larger planes that is also a possibility, but we all know it takes stick time to get comfortable with a borrowed plane.
