Had a wonderful day flying today. 2mph all day till dusk then it was down to 0. Started the day flying the 48 edge but had a wing bolt back out lost a wing and busted motorbox during KE spin. Pulled a servo and installed it in my 42 slick to get it going and that plane is so wonderful. Flew a buddies 30cc Yak and proceeded to deadstick and knock the gear out. First time flying gas and first time flying anything over 60".... not a good result. All my fears came true about 3 minutes into the flight. Enough to keep me electric .

I put on a real show at the end of the evening. A few people were packed up and ready to leave but kept asking me to fly another. I was torque rolling inches off the ground hovering over the heli pad for like 3 minutes without having to fly out. Tail touches and even threw in a hover catch. Had a blast here is a western oklahoma sunset.

Ah Dave! We are in sink!!! I flew the 70 gasser today...first gasser and first anything that big and ripped the gear out....jinx!!! Maiden flight hit the kill switch by mistake and dead stick landed...should have gone home then. Started up again and flew five minutes and spent three trying to get the damn thing to land....unsuccessful.

you fixed the gear and got to fly again?

I knocked the gear plate out of his. Should be an easy fix though. Didn't even tear any monokote. Very clean break. I was so scared and of course DEAD STICK. Electrics4LIFE!

If I need 15 minute flights I'll land and put in a new battery

No the dead stick did not cause any damage as the plane landed fine as it slowed down with no motor.
The second flight it smacked hard as I think the idle was too high.
It was tucking hard to the gear inverted so I think its way tail heavy.I must have made a mistake on the balancing.
Does that mean you want to buy my 71" electric slick now?

If you still have it when I decide to upsize I will buy it if I ever have a way to get to it.

oh and for the record the 30cc size yak that I flew was very smooth flying. felt bigger than my 4X stuff.

No doubt about the smoothness of the 70 slick...holy cow it was like flying with no wind no matter what was blowing. Just the landing damn that landing!
