Peace dron CG.

Hi Ed, I'm going to start the peace drone, less camera and extension, tomorrow and would like to know where to locat the CG.
I'm only going to make it the same dimensions as the Noob Tube only as a conard. Or I might go with a 50" main wing and a 20" conard.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Tia,
G.

Noob addiction

Thats what I call it. Building and flying the Noob is an addiction for me, but the new one had its first flight today.
It was a handfull at first, but then I reduced the duel rate down to 20% and the expo to 35% and we were in the zone. With 2" ailerons and a 10" chord, it will really preform but will also slow way down for a soft landing. I'm loving it.
I will post some pics of it today.

Good work, Gordosoar! The one with the red, white and blue wing must be a real floater. Thanks for posting the pix!

Looks good, J#! As a favor, can you post some detail pix or drawings of your landing gear? I can't seem to build any that I can make with simple tools but are light and sturdy.

I'm trying to find the video where Ed shows moving the wing around on the Noob to find the balance point. I watched it once and haven't been able to find it again. I'm pretty close to the point of attaching the wing and need to find it again. A post number or url on YouTube would be helpful!

Thanks!

The CG location is discussed about 8 minutes into this video:

That's the one I've been looking for! The particular part is at about 9:00 where it shows balancing the fuselage on top of the wing. I've made 3 different wings so far, and I'm probably going to use the last one I built which has a deeper chord, so more wing area and larger ailerons, which could mess up just measuring the location in inches.

Thanks!

I flew it today and it really slows down for a nice landing.
The 2" ailerons are so effective that I had to fly it on 20% rate.
And 35 expo.
But it is rock solid in the air.
I wish I could get someone to video it flying.

Use this calculator with a static margin of about 30.

The lesson I've learned with these canards is to go way forward with the CG.
