You can download the Windows version for free anyway here - hopefully it will work, but if not I'm in the middle (well... to be honest... at the beginning) of making changes that should let it run reliably on most PCs.

There's an iOS demo version too that's currently submitted to Apple - hopefully it will become available in a week or so.

I downloaded it onto the iPad last night and have been playing it every chance I've had. Fun little sim!

Jakes, that is a machine. STUNNING is all I can say. When and where are you going to maiden her? O, by the way, why do they always refer to planes and boats in the female manner?....... It take a man to control it. Hehehe! - Jaco

Hey Guys

Surfimp
We are trying to get the article together but work pressure is just off the scale at the moment so hope to tackle that on the weekend and get some photos from Shane, our awesome event photographer as well as any hi res you guys can get me,
keeping in mind that this will go to at least 4 differing publications that require differing resolutions including
Surfimp and Rc Soaring Digest as well as SAMAA and the TossBlog

Thanks for a fantastic event, and for all the awesome camaraderie
over the weekend, and Jaks proved the point that if your plane goes down,
beg, borrow or steal another with immediate effect...
get back on the horse and complete the competition and place 5th of 13!
Well done to jaks for that, and super well done to Noel for taking the sportsman's
and to that tearful big bear of a man called Louis, for taking the expert.
Excellent flying by both.

What has interested me the most over the last 5 years
is that in the original event we were scared to add in the square loop in case the guys cocked it up,
(inverted flight and all that dreadfully complex stuff) but heres the beaut,
5 years later ...and the level of precision slope aerobatics and general flying skills has improved so vastly,
that the square loop would hardly even feature it it were offered as an optional manoeuvre!
and the 9 entrants for the expert class are so close that mere parts of a point
separate the final results over the three rounds. Precision aerobatics rules!
Kudos to all involved! Had a blast, wouldn't miss it for the earth.

Anybody flying Hermanus today?
I wanna go there after lunch, but I heard it is a bit dangerous to go alone.

Pothead I'm leaving now for Hermanus but will fly only in the afternoon since its to hot till 3 pm . Safe to fly alone , I've been fortunate enough to have flown there over 200 times now and have never had a problem , thank goodness . Tomorrow we will try the Redbird challenge to set up a format for the future . Be aware of the Cape Cobra , probably the most dangerous on the hill , so beware if you walk down the hill to fetch a model .

Thanks KEV and boys for a great event , next year we will be 5 guys from AFC and Louis will bring some more well trained pilots from Hermanus ,beware , that cup might stay in Hermanus :-) thanks Jakes for your sportsmanship and congrats ... Will miss you in Herma.

Phillip, a bunch of us is heading up at 3pm. Wind still sub 15km/h E but will turn SE >20km/h later. Regarding safety, I spend many hours flying alone (Not any more, because so many new slopies). There was a syndicate 2 yrs ago that operated in the area. They have been caught and no new incidents have been reported since then. All SAFE up there. Just watch out for flying objects, that's the only concern!! - Jaco

Ohhh another Vector
Which servo's are you fitting it out with?

Are those Noel brought in similar to Kevin's or are they in the new revised colour scheme?

Yip mine is one of the 5 that Noel brought in. I think Noel has one more left and it's a Red one. They are all carbon and normally go for R6000 ($666). I think Noels price is definitely less than that.

My one is yellow, black and white.

The last one went to Schalk.
But 'm not disappointed. It worked out the way it must. I'll enjoy my Voltij till another opportunity comes along.

Those servo's are awfully quick and my experience of the HK servo's is that they are very imprecise. They don't return to centre. Have you used these before and are they

1) reliable
2) precise
3) get hot under load when running at 6.0V?

Sorry question?
THose are all wing servo's. I thought the vector used two mini servo's in the fuselage like the Hyperion DS16 FMD?
