You can also use any blades for the 120sr, but again, you need shims. I bought Microheli's from HH for $26.

I'm flying a set of blades designed for the Gaui X2, purchased from clubheli.com. I like them very much, but unfortunately they are out of stock:
http://www.clubheli.com/255mm-Carbon...55_p_3783.html

Edge makes X2 blades:
http://www.readyheli.com/LE-253-EDGE...s_p_40624.html

As does SAB:
http://helidirect.com/sab-redwhitebl...ht-p-21188.hdx

Until the aftermarket catches up with the 300X, we are basically stuck paying too much for Blade brand CF blades, using the stock woodies, or searching for Gaui X2 blades.

Chris
I am waiting for the Edge blades. I hate all black blades.

No, not 120-SR blades - that's a fixed pitch helicopter.
http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...sr-rtf-BLH3100

Blade SR blades are the ones you want - but there is a difference between the Blade SR wood blades and the 300X ones - the 300X blades have a metal bushing in the grip. The Blade SR CF blades are the same as the 300X CF blades.

Quite right. You meant what I knew. Thanks for the correction. I don't know how the "120" slipped into my post.

As do I, but I fixed that with a couple of stripes of white self-adhesive Monokote trim.

Make sure you balance the Monokote! I'm not kidding... every little bit of balancing helps.

Yeah... I found the black ones more difficult to keep orientation. I was kind bummed too because the pic on HH's web site shows white blades for the Microheli product. They look cool anyway... but my next CF's will be white for sure.

These blades were perfectly matched for CG and weight, which was nice. I used the full width of the trim (about 5") and did a complete wrap of the blade, and I made sure to put it exactly the same distance out on each side, of course. CG and weight were still matched after the trim was applied.

I will also be experimenting with vacuum-bagging epoxy/fiberglass over the stock blades (after removing the shrink wrap of course) to see if they can be made stiff enough for aggressive flying. Honestly, they aren't too bad as-is, especially if you re-shrink the covering before flying them.

I have the mSR, NcpX, McpX, 130X, T-rex 250 (that I can't get operating correctly) and the Blade 400 3D. I LOVE the 130X the most...I want to buy either another 130X or the 300X. Which would you guys recommend, and why?
Thanks

Kind of depends on how big your flying field is. If you have a lot of room go for the 300x. If your flying field is on the small side, go for another 130x.

I was looking for one of those

Well, I gave up tweaking this heli at a 100% head speed. Tail blow outs, serious bogging......

I turned it down to 85%, no problems, and I really can't tell the difference in power. This is with CF blades.....

Only thing I can figure is my blade pitch isn't spot on. It's a pain on a heli this size, but I have a digital gauge on its way.

Waiting to get the swash tool, and then I am going to tare the 300 down, from top to bottom.
I have a vibration somewhere, that is causing the helicopter to do a dip / tilt to the right. Not all the time, and not uncontrollable ,but just enough that when taking off or landing... its in the back of your mind.

Just a heads up guys.... I recently relocated the AR7200BX to the top mount like the 450X using 3M 4010 double sided tape.
Apparently I messed up the setup so when I went to try and test fly/hover all it would do is tip over left (no damage) and then tip over right (no damage). Upon inspection after a few tip overs I noticed it had lost collective pitch, the swash would just move about an 1/8". I tried everything to no avail. So I called HH & got right thru, customer service rep was very helpful but we couldn't figure it out and he told me the main guy was on another call and he would call me back. 5 minutes later he calls and says do a "reset" followed the procedure on page 9 while still on the phone and BAM! All the collective travel was back! The reset wipes out previous setup values of course. Taking my time and just following the manual I totally redid it and changed the settings for the relocation of the unit and it hovered perfectly.
I still have no idea why the swash travel got lost but one good thing from this is I can now setup an AR7200BX from scratch. It's really relatively easy once you do it. Now that the BX is on top it's the way I thought it should have been from the start, it bothered the heck out of me where it was. Any setup changes are just so much easier now and the boot up & status is very convienent to see as it should be.
