That is gorgeous!

Looks like a Pearl Harbor defender (no shark's mouth for a change).

Shame on me for forgetting about the Hells Angels. Now that's an AVG scheme I like a lot.

Very cool plane. I'm new around here and getting into this hobby head first. I had a few questions for you veterans. Why would this not come with flaps? And how much 'assembly' is typically required on a kit like this? I am itching to try my hand at assembling a plane from plans and doing the work myself as I really enjoy things like that, but something like this might be a good middle ground?

If you are new to RC, I would strongly recommend you starting out with a foamy first. Cheaper and easier to fix.
Trust me I smashed a few balsa birds thinking I was ready.

Ok thanks for the fair warning Right now I have just been having a blast with my P-51 UM and PZ P-47. Love buildings stuff so its hard to not get ahead of myself as that part of it seems like it will be just as much fun. Any good warbird kits you could think of that would be a good stepping stone? Thank you for your help

PZ-P-47 is a great bird! Fly the wheels off of that thing and you'll be ready.

I wonder why they didnt do flaps, wouldnt be hard to do since there split flaps. Im doing split flaps on the older FMS P-40

E-Flite T-34 comes to mind. Love mine, and it's a good intro to this size balsa bird. It will teach you the difference between balsa and foam. Doesn't do much for teaching ground handling, but will get you used to a bit larger plane.
EDIT: Use the P-47 to sharpen your tail dragger skill.

I can see it on the Corsair as it would raise the cost quite a bit.
It would be nice if they where in there and you just had to cut them out.
At least put the servo hatch in there.
It's always something.
