I asked a question with a yes or no answer, so if you don't know the answer, please butt out.

Social commentary is quite prevalent on forums. In other words, deal with it.

Well, it may be, but the guy is asking for help, and you aren't giving it....

But, as Andy is a programmer, I think it safe to infer it is coming for the DX 18.

Now, what about me, I have a DX 8?

No social commentary, please.

What makes you think that?

Interesting to see if it trickles down that far. I'd rather see it on the DX8 than the DX18 since I care/use my DX8 infinitely more than my untrustworthy DX18.

In all seriousness, though, is it *really* that big of a deal to turn off the TX, hold down a button while turning it back on to "shift" into the system settings menu? You don't even have to turn it off to get back to the main menu. Heck, it never even bothered me on my old DX7 and you had to do virtually the same thing every single time you simply wanted to switch to another model memory.

You are right, it is no big deal: neither is riding around in a luxury car on my fat arse, but I enjoy it just the same!

I don't know, I mean there are those guys who claim they walked 10 miles to school, uphill to and from, and they loved it and still do.

Some folks are just like that....

I just created a new model in my DX18(V1.03) , which was previously on my DX8 and will be using an 8 channel receiver. I had expected Aircraft Type of Dual Ailerons and Dual Elevators to create a rx channel mapping similar to my DX8 but instead the DX18 put L. Elevator on AUX4, which doesn't exist on an 8 channel receiver. I next went into Channel Assign -> Rx Port Assignments and set AUX2 to L.Elevator and AUX4 to Inhibit. I selected NEXT to go to the Channel Input Config menu and set AUX2 and AUX5 to Inhibit but discovered that AUX4 was still set to N/A and couldn't be changed. When I marked AUX4 as Inhibited in Rx Port Assignment and set AUX2 to L Elevator, shouldn't AUX2 have been marked as N/A as it was now assigned as the dedicated Left Elevator Rx Port?

All controls seem to move correctly now but the behavior was a bit disconcerting since the Channel Assignments didn't get updated as I expected and Rx Input Config doesn't seem to indicate AUX2 is now the dedicated L Elevator channel. My concern is if perhaps this may make the "servo sync" feature not work correctly and cause unexpected latency between updating the 2 elevator halves.

as owner of a DX18 I'm not happy that spektrum has already produced a new radio....

PS: who knows if the new DX18QQ has the problem of the display or the new customers will be more lucky

I wonder whatever happened to the DX8i that was rumored in some places. Supposedly, it was to be a DX8 with the DX18 antenna setup, larger DX18 style screen, sliders and a few other things. Perhaps they finally realized a DX8i release would have absolutely tanked their DX18 sales...
