Besides the added channels what else about it is better? I'm trying to decide if the upgrade is worth the $500 extra cost. Are the switches and gimbals of better quality than the DX8 or same basic components?

I'm hoping for a step up in quality as well as features. The DX8 is nice but seems a bit flakey at times and not without it's QC issues.

Pete, let it pass-as I've said, before, I'm grateful you beat the battery horse, since it resulted in my HH lipo purchase!

Servo sequencer, more mixes (does the DX8 allow combo switches for turning mixes on and off? If not then that is a plus). Sliders (aka levers) on the side. Stick tension adjustment without removing the side grips.

It really is a great radio for scale aircraft and the Sailplane programming is expanded too.

It can do 12 channels without having to buy an expander module, that's a lot of channels, I don't think I will ever need more than that.

I never owned an 8, I went from the 7 (non-S) and I would say there is a boost in the quality in my case.

What is the overall height of the DX18? Curious if it will fit my current case for the DX8, which I fit in with antenna folded sideways.

Also does it come stock with a Lipo battery?

Has there been an official explanation about the screen glitch from Spektrum? We are curious. (Clubmembers)

Idle fascination with small things might cause someone to go blind especially when they are starting out with poor eyesight to begin with.

I am sending my radio in tomorrow. Horizon/Spektrum is planning on inspecting mine thoroughly on the bench once it is received for both the screen glitch and the poor RF performance.

DX18 Link Performance

Are folks seeing any noticeable difference in the RF link performance between the DX18 and other DSMX radios? Is the dual antenna providing better range test results?

Thanks! -Randy

I hope we get an answer soon from Horizon, I don't care about a screen glitch, but I'm concerned about the frame loss. Thats stopped me ordering a DX18 for now.

I don't know if it is better than my DX8 or not but I have had my giant stick up to 2744 ft. with my DX18.

I am new to Spectrum transmitters. My previous TX was a JR9303 2.4 but the menu's are very different. As the Manual for the DX18 is fairly brief is there any other manuals that would be helpful. Is the manual for the DX8 extensive and relevant?

Also for the HH guys are there plans to include telemetry into future RXs rather than having to buy the add on.
