In video it looked like it had very nice speed though, but they could've tried a couple, used the most powerful one and flew at wot the whole time.
I agree, i doubt that the 4 bladed prop is efficient, i was surprised becuase the 480 spit has two blades, so i was expecting another 3 blade. I guess its just a vain hope, like release dates that are prompt after the announcement.

LOL!! That was funny!!

Yeah, in the promo video, she seemed to be plenty fast and appeared to have enough thrust for nice, big loops. However - with a few of the previous 1s UMs, the production versions seemed to lack the performance of the demo planes. A notable example of this was the original Sukhoi 26m. I hope that I'm wrong in this case. I really hope that HH has found the magic combo to maximize performance with the scale prop. However, I am not holding my breath on that. I think that with the Sukhoi XP, they've already taken their current 8.5mm motor program about as far as it can go...

In a few months, we shall find out...

If this is true the dead weight could become batteries.

Of course this is all just me guessing.
Interesting! That would also explain the battery cover and magnet. They didn't mind the extra weight!

There is no added weight in the model.

In order to balance the model properly, the board mounts directly behind the motor (almost touching), and the battery mounts in the nose under the motor/board. The reason for the plastic hatch is because the battery wouldn't fit with a 3mm foam hatch.

That's a nice looking plane, I'll probably grab one in the summer. I have yet to try this "x" stuff.... I hear it's the best thing since sliced bread?

Cheers

Did they really bump the release date from mid-February to may or is that just when the backorder is cleared? I hope the motor/brick clearance is robust enough for nose bumps ala original Polecat

The Spitfire's board is mounted vertically (due to spacing in the fuselage), and the ASK's board is mounted horizontally. I don't own a Pole Cat but I think the board is mounted horizontally too? So a ASK receiver would likely be the ticket.

The date originally posted was incorrect when it went live, we have it fixed now, and late May is the correct date.

Hopefully not as close as what causes the PoleCat motor to cut the rudder trace during a nose impact when the motor contacts the board!
