Now after hearing the Christmas song "Run Run Rudolph" last night, I want one:

"And then away went Rudolph wizzin' like a sabre jet. Run-run Rudolph, Santa's gotta make it to town Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down"

High octane sweet feed for the guy with the red nose.
JP5 for all others.
Forgot all about that song! Chris

Hey guys, lucky me. My brother gave me the micro Saber for Christmass!
He knew how much I liked Sabers in the day.
The QC looks great on this unit. The only thing I can see off is the cockpit is set high up in the canopy.
Have to wonder how the Rube Goldburg / Heath Robinson aileron links work out.
The DX7 is a bit dusty, but the plugs fit fine.
The 250mAh bat charged in a 35 min drive.
This GP Saber is much better looking than any of the Horizon ums here.
CG on my J power 24" ws was very tail heavy and sensitive.
Thanks for the help in these pages!
Itching to hear the little devil!
Were are y'll finding batteries?
Hobbie King and Banana Hobbie are on my s*** list.
The idea of a 3 cell seems natural.
Thanks Chris

Got Saber bound with anylink with DX7 as per instructions.
No sweat, except what is ppm?
A frame rate? Ignored that.
The cock pit must have been moved up into the canopy to accommodate
the bigger battery, which can be seen through the canopy.
The magnetic latches seem weak.
Made note the vertical stabilizer flexes when the rudder moves.
Yes the elevator halfs are un equal. The rudder centered as to make a left turn.
The port aileron first link from fuse is binding some.
It took a good 2.6 grams to get cg in range.
This is going to be a blast!
The little fan was enough to ruffle our kitten's feathers
Yup wife at gym.
All good, except weather here in NE USA. Chris

More discovery.
Got links running better.
CG took more like 3.6 grams and a plop of hot glue.

Found why the magnets were not doing their job.
Fore ( in particular) and aft positions both had an air gap!
Not even close.
Looking at adjusting them, looked risky.
Using additional magnets worked.
Like all of my other planes similarly set up like this (about ten)
It can now be picked up by the canopy.
Would put a huge magnet forward for cg next time. Chris

Maiden after the sun went over.
Chance a belly landing in slushy snow
At the last minute the wing LEs got scotch tape.
The hay field can cause grief.
The dart throw @3/4T was cake!
Needs a lot of right trim, that unequal elevator looks like the culprit.
CG felt fine, good news.
The glide path is surprisingly long.
Needed high rates to make a flat turn.
Time up!
1st pass a plop at feet.
This little devil can step out, but is remarkably docile.
Did not look for the stall, as per usual.
It is unreasonable to leave the elevator so unequal.
Any one work on that?
Thanks Chris

I have the same issue with the elevators not being even I assume we can bend the control arm a little to fix. I smashed my tail and was gluing back together and though of using a different position on the control horn. But that may change the rates between the two. What battery are you using? Mine came with the 250mah and when moved all the way forward in the cockpit it balanced perfect.

:My unit came with a 250mAh battery. It still took a good 3.6 grams tucked up front n the tray.
Though of hogging foam to slide the battery farther forward, but there is not much there. Probably end up in the duct!
Bending the rod may do the trick. Thanks Chris

Hello,

I got this plane for xmas but I am having issues trying to bind it to my DX8 TX. All the channel mappings are all over the place. The throtle works as the aileron stick and so on. I tried binding it with the rudder stick to the left and to the right and nothing.

Any help will be very much appreciated and thank you in advance,

CB

i seem to recall others having this problem months ago. I believe they resolved it by carefully swapping plugs on the ESC. If you search this thread far bck enough I am confident you will find the answer. Good luck!

Double check that your Anylink beeps twice during power-up so that you know that the 'alternate" channel mapping was selected properly for the Spektrum TX.

Yes that's the problem, you have to hold the rudder stick bottom left or right, then power up the anylink to get it into alternate channel mode. Tells you in the instructions. I also had to reverse a couple channels, so double check everything, it also tells you how to arm motor.

I maidened mine yesterday. No extra weight, balance was good, except I put 30 down trim on the elevator in case it was a bit tail heavy, bad idea Had a little crash trying to trim it back up No damage, flew again, and it fly's nice, glides in real nice for easy landing I did put 30 RR subtrim, and it wasn't quite enough, set it to 35 for next flight, unfortunately the wind is up today.

Surviving a maiden is good news.
Crazy wind and snow here.
Any more than 6 or 8 beeps of trim, gets me looking for a physical adjustment.
How does it do inverted?
I need better weather to find out! Chris
