remember, it has to be FULL FUNCTION boat. not necessarily scale or even electric. it can use steam, nuclear, hamster, etc. all ok. ir, radio, old tv "clicker". all ok. but it does need to be able to steer and back up out of the weeds. and it does have to float. btw "no video? it didnt happen!". so technically mine dont qualify but i think everybody knows the bit rx has fwd/rev so my pics are pretty convincing.

no matter what id like to see somebody else build one of these. and did i mention i got a 1" dealie going now? but no pics so, again, dont qualify. yet.

that was probably camphor. 10x better than soap and lasts way longer too.

yes. the 2" one in post #1 was shortened since photos were taken by trimming rudder 1/8". the new one has thinner hull wall, smaller battery, and the entire electronics consist of just one atmel tiny24 soic w/sharp smd ir sensor. (ono.. have i let too much info out? will loose lips sink....)

if you guys are building around custom electronics, i may not have any chance at all

We get 2.8mm and 3.2mm shicoh motors from mobile phone repair shops here. Got a bunch of em back home in Tabriz.

well considering nobody, including me, has put up videos yet you could still grab the record at least for a while with a 2" or 3" boat. lol!

at $5 ea shicohs are a little rich for my blood. i do like the 50 cent 4mm dealies on aliexpress though.

hey... chicken parts is chicken parts... millimeters is millimeters... at great risk to lfe and limb i trimmed my rudder to get below 2". so you figure it out. the race is on!

btw those are not regular cell phone pagers. shicoh is like the cadillac of motors (i prefer yugo).

We get them here in cellphone pager form... But still haven't realized the use of the 2.8mm ones!

Ok so this is now official.

Rules:
- Length of participating boats are determined by their total length. This includes the rudder.
- Participating boats must be fully functional: forward, reverse, ability to turn.
- Pictures and a video are required for proof.

I can't think of anything else.

I'm going to use a 4mm Picooz tail motor. I think it'll have more speed than a 2.8mm shicoh version. Hmmm... thinking of making it turn by thrust vectoring...

Does it have to be able to move forward and backward?
