id mention bitcar controller and actuators which are smaller but it wouldnt be smart for me to do that and still have any chance of winning this challenge.

i do have an ir motor/act module which is 1/30th the size (no exaggeration) but its so small its very hard to work with. at least for a first go around. so far im sticking with the hk supermicro and bitcar which were pretty easy to get going. ill take pics tomorrow and maybe video. i cant do youtube or any flash media but will try to upload mpg to rcgroups if i get a chance.

I'd still like smaller bricks, smaller etc's too and a smaller scout.

I got an iPod nano wrist watch. Really neat, but the nano has the WORST software of anything from Apple.

Twin motor steering sounds interesting.

I wear a nano with a tiktok band everyday. It's the black $80 band. I like it more for style then function.

Me too on the style. Dunno what band I've got, but it cost fifty bucks. I love the variety of watch faces and I have a few hundred photos on it. It's been passed around the dinner table so people can look at the photos.

This is a bit off topic but it's also a fascinating toy that I'd love to be able to modify.

Wow. I didn't get to do mine over the weekend. Soon though.

Is there a way to run an actuator off of a servo channel?

Okay, the AR6400 is way to big to compete.

In the next few days I'm going to shell some walnuts for valentines day cookies. Then look out.

ondaplanebill, it's not forgotten. I just don't have an area big enough to build the wing. Working on creating space. Had to empty shredder three or four times in the past week.

would like to thank you Dave for this thread. got us all thinking a little
i made post not knowing u post just minutes before me.
i was waiting to see really small boat and simply thought mine would not qualify as it is a huge brick
I do not have the small electronic patients needed for such project to try to build worlds smallest.. just look in micro airplanes and u can see how small things can really be.
just wanted to share small boat idea... not trying to claim worlds smallest

thanks again for the fun project

you did it again.

you are too modest. i think you do have the worlds (or at least rcgroups) smallest rc boat. id love to hear more details about it. what rx? is it 2 channel? what is ares? etc.

no matter what its pretty amazing.

hard to see the staircase and railings.. but best pics i can get
it is an older spectrum board.. i used servo motor and gear reduction for drive. all i did was remove the part that moves from servo and add longer shaft , was surprised it worked so easy. prop is from plastic model kit trimmed down
thanks

i have a tube of chips that do just that. they take in 2ch servo pwm from rx and control a couple actuators or pager motors. works with low current coils. weight is only a few milligrams.

i hope to do video this weekend assuming my sailing pan is not frozen again.
