looks like i need to do some static testing with the 18-11 2000 and the miniswifft prop, because my "bigger" option the 2211-1700 and the 8x4.5 folding prop seem heller big for the task, even though i can squeeze them in

16gm for the little one with prop, versus 46.5gm for the big one, due to the lovely but heavy aluminium spinner

losing an ounce to aid gliding versus going up faster is my aim

so, 3s lipo - 5.2amp max, drawing 50w might be a winner

Great work Harry, i won't be surprised that your atom is uniquely perfect after all that work you put in.
Mine was dented pretty bad after a series of nose dives due to my own silly mistakes of pulling down the elevator stick at hand launching it.
And subsequently more kamikazes into the ground when I installed the following FPV gear
1. 3grams 5.8ghz video transmitter
2. 12grams 3.3v regulator for the VTX
3. 5g clover leaf antenna
4. 16g 12v Sony pz0420 camera
5. 13g 3cell 120mah batt for the FPV

Total load is about 50g and the plane could not climb up with full throttle. It either did its kamikaze dive or glide a few cm above the ground at best.

I removed the 16g camera and the 13g battery and it flew like a dream again ...
Looks like this plane can only carry 25g or less.
5hrs spent on a sat to put in the FPV and what a disappointment !

waiting for a perfect weather tomorrow...dunno whether this bird can carry the hd wing camera or not?....btw..where is the CG for this little bird?........

Hi everyone! I'm new to the hobby and this is my first plane and after a few days of flying I broke my propellers. Can anyone tell me where I can get cheap props that fit on the stock motor? Also, does the ESC have a lvc? Thank you!

how thick wedge that you use?

it has a LVC.

6.0 volts LVC, on mine.

abt 0.15 mm....depends on how much your right wing is been lowered. emm...does anybody had this deformation on your atom?...

the stock prop is 11cm, you can use 5inch or 4inch prop. hmm how about prop adapter? 2mm prop adapter on brushed motor??

Have the same problem, and here is my fix

I need a glider that is cheap and I can sacrifice. I want to start flying gliders over the river and fly over a big lake. If I lose it in the water I don't want to be out on too big an investment. This glider might fit my needs. Not sure if I want this glider or one of those Bixler or that AXN Floater Jet glider.

if this little atom falls on water, it will surely go down bcoz of the air inlets on the fuse.....
