Wet pipe for nitro???
So I have an rc nitro boat. can i run a wet pipe with nitro?

I'm not saying that you can't but generally it's not a good idea. Once the boat stalls or dies on the water, the water in the pipe can go back into the motor. Water running through or out a pipe can at times help as it can artificially shorten the length of the pipe and quiet the exhaust somewhat. If the exiting water gets into the fuel pressure fitting it can push water into your fuel tank, you don't want that either.
That's basically the pro's and con's as I see it. |

Thanks for the help. So my best bet would just be put in a gas motor? I have a 2.0 chainsaw motor im modding to put in air cooled but i want wet pip I can do this right? Just drill a hole in the pipe and put the water intake tube to it right?

OK, let's back up a second. A chainsaw motor is a bad option for a boat. They're heavy, don't rev up high enough although they do have a ton of torque but the bad thing is that the rotation is backwards. To use it you'd have to find left-lay cable and clockwise props in the size that you'd need.

Well dang it seems all my ideas are junk i havent thought about any of that. But i really want a gas motor instead of nitro. Any ideas?

go as cheap on everything else as you need to but no matter what you do your boat will only be as good as the motor you put in it,the zenoha is a great suggestion and thats for a new one you can find a used one as well,and get it for even less, then your wet pipe as well as mounts collets to connect your cable, they come with a water cooled head everything you would have to make work, going a different rought and then you would pay for it every single time you went to the lake,

I was wondering i found this 26cc water cooled marine engine.http://www.crrcpro.com/product_show.asp?id=222
Would this be a suitable engine? Or should i just go for the zen? |

Save your money and buy the real thing. I haven't seen any good reviews on that motor.
