Do not remove the red wire from any HV ESCís.

I have a SK540 on a 700-size helicopter and it works great. Why are you trying to run a Power Buss with the 540? Thatís mainly for the 720 to reduce vibration being transmitter through the wires but thatís not a problem with the SK540.

For those waiting for the release, I've run both 4.01 beta as well as 4.02 alpha. Performance is identical when you run 4.01 beta in multi-rotor mode. And on my 2 700 models soft start was quite good with multi-rotor. 4.02 only brings a true ESC based soft start to the table. Not worth waiting on the fence in my opinion.

Thanks for the update OTS.
I think a HobbyWing 120HV is the way to go.

Castle, unfortunately for a lot of people you really missed the mark on this one.
All but one of the guys at my club have migrated over to a less expensive HW which just works.
Sorry to go OT but it's been far too long.

A Fusion Hawk 120 plus a Hyperion phase sensor will work awesome with vbar gov.
Close to 300 flights with that combo, and no problems at all.
(in a rex 700).
The Hawk set you back some 200 USD at fast-lad, but keep in mind that the cost includes VAT/TAX....

You guys do the math

Yes. You need a ground connection so the sensor can compare the motor signal to a fixed reference relative to the motor voltage.
