I'm modeling the frame in solidworks here on my break at work. It's gonna use 10g motors, and 5" props.

This one will probally be los only, but I hope to sharpen my los flight skills with this one. It's smaller size and weight will be more forgiving in crashes.

I told my friend when he was building his quad - basically, the bigger you make it, the harder it will fall
Something like Hallstudio's Tri?
That will be nice!!!

Out Off topic. I just came back from a two weeks trip to my wife family in Kiev, Ukraine, and was amazed by the Electric stairs of the Metro A.K.A. Subway of the city... takes 3 min. to go up and 2 1/2 min to go down!!!
Here a video of that stairs trip... The jumping crazy woman in the video is my wife...

Ukrainian Metro long mechanical stairs (4 min 42 sec)

Much smaller and lighter. It will be 2 cell powered.

Just a bit bigger than this, but same components, and longer lengthwise for orientation.

Geting closer,

1)How do I check CG?
2)Left aileron input should lower the left side correct?
3)Down elevator input should raise the tail correct?
4)Rudder left input should have the servo aim to the left correct?

I may have to do some servo reversing here because 2-4 are opposite.

1) CofG not too important, but still better to get it right. On the original Tricopter design it should be right about where the center plate is. Put the copter on your finger right around there and check the balance.
2) correct
3) Correct, if you mean down elevator like on a plane's control (physically pushing the elevator stick up/forward on the tx)
4) Nooo. I made the same mistake. If you give left rudder, the servo should tilt the motor in the opposite direction. Think about it. For the nose to go left, the tail needs to go right. Makes sence? If you pull the tale left, the nose will go right. Stick out your hand. Turn the nose (fingers) left. See which way the tail (your palm) goes?

Make sure also that the yaw gyro corrects in the right direction.
