Hey Guys,

Thought I would post some pics of a bit of progress on my F22 based on the same plans Hover is using. I will be printing the rest of the ducts this week and re-joining them, hopefully they turn out alright.

Cheers,

Matt

Hey,

They are Beta plans from an rcg member here is the link:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=805557

Considering they are beta plans I am modifying them slightly in a few area's such as hatches, battery box, ESC/Rx mounts and I will also be changing the way the elevons mount as I don't like the current mount for them.

Cheers,

Matt

K.Smith,
I posted it in the first post lol...You have to download the 30 day trial of autocad to see the plans..It is pretty straight foreward but I ran into a few issues being comp illiterate lol..I just blew the plans up to my desired size and traced out the individual parts..Since I had to cut mine by hand i used thin ply and did not cutout all the material like Matt did..(he obviously has access to a laser cutter as well)

There are no plans per say, just all the parts to put together the airframe..You have to do a lot of the thinking for servo placement, control surface activation,ect....

Matt,
It looks killer!!What size ply did you use?I thought cutting out the 1/8" was pushing it but it looks like you used 1/4",which makes sense to use the cutout and it `looks great..I'm actually not far behind you i just need to take some pics...

Thanks for posting up the pics,,gives me incentive...
Take care.............................................. CC

Hey,

I found a laser cutter in Australia that was willing to do the job in fact everything is cut from 1/8th ply. At this stage mine won't have retracts unless I can find a decent set that won't look to out of place. What are you going to cover your fuse and wings with? I was thinking of a thin balsa layer then a layer or so of glass over the top of that.

Cheers,

Matt

Chris, looking good keep up the pics on those ducts construction, one of my weaker areas of building,,,, I feel your pain on learning the ne tablet,, got a Ipad2 for Christmas, most of it is really easy, but a couple of things are pretty different and a learning curve for me,,, been using PCs since they come into existence but I love this iPad! Keep up the great work! W.

Hey Guys,

I have had quite a bit of luck with 3D printing my ducts however I just bought the last set home this evening and somewhere something went wrong and the exhaust duct that I sectioned into two pieces doesn't fit together, meaning I will have to reprint it hopefully this will happen tomorrow.

I have attached a few images of the intake ducting which is all done and just needs joining.

Cheers,

Matt

Matt,
Wht are you building your intakes out of?Is that foam?
It will probably need reinforcing if it's foam..I'm not sure what you are powering your bird with..I ordered my motors last night for my jetfan 80's..
went with the HET 700 series motors (39mm)2250 kv..
I should see close to 7 lbs per side..
I put the bottom of my battery box in lst night and loaded it up with batteries to decide on 6 or 8 cells..Going to go with 6 per side for now to keep weight down..
I will post some pics of my progress today...
