I hope these help. The capt. is a little large but not so large that it looks bad. He came from a gift shop at Myrtle beach. I had to cut his right arm off and sculpt a new one to look like he's holding the ships wheel.

I am using a 280 size motor with gear reduction off of a airplane with fuel tubing connecting to the shaft.

I also cut a hole in the back of the deck and used a micro servo just below so I wouldn't have to have the push rod on top of the deck. This seems to be practice of way back.

Do you have to Fire-boat? The old kit I mean. I have always wanted that one.

The stuff in the bottom of the hull is bird shot mixed with epoxy to add weight and get her to the water line.

Also in the future if you plan on planking the deck it easier if you do it before gluing the deck to the frames. just glue the planks down to the lite plywood and sand to the side and notch for the frame to come up thru.

I used a Dumas prop and made my rudder from brass.

Neat boat. She has that old school tug boat feel. The hand rail around the front of the cabin is nicely done.

thats a nice stand! did you screw it to the wall or is it hung like a frame? Cant say enough about the boat. Hope both of mine turn out like that!

just an update on my build, the cabin is epoxied and ready to be sanded, the hull needs a lot of work!

Yes it is screwed into the wall. I didn't want to take a chance of it falling off the wall.

I like that too, another thing I might need to copy.

a little update. the hull is mostly planked and filled. The bilge is water proofed.

Idle curiosity Kyle, how many of the old Midwest kits do you have going all at once

I have the two kits going. The bass boat and tour master. The reason is when one is drying I can work on the other or when I'm waiting on materials. Also if I have left over epoxy from one boat I can use it on the other instead of it going to waist. My midwest lobster boat is "done" I only need to paint the controls and get a realistic anchor. I am also painting an aquacraft bass boat and a coast guard bot but all painting is on hold until the warm weather gets here! sounds like a lot but basically two projects.
