The wing tanks seem to take away from the flight maneuverability with a 6S system. It felt like I was lugging the jet around, however it wasn't too bad. Scraped the tanks on landing though due to the low landing gear.

I'm not happy with regular bulbs; I can see the Xenons during the day easily.
I found a solution to strobe light interference; it is all digital servos. Ground test worked fine. Weather permitting I hope to fly tomorrow. Here is a short clip. There is absolutely no servo twitching with digital servos.
L-59 wing strobe lighting (0 min 35 sec)

The new digital elevator servos movements were acting like ailerons so I went into the tx programming and set one of the elevator servos on AUX3 and reversed the slope, then change the slope to a lesser incline till it matched the movement of the other elevator servo. Looks like buying a servo reverser was not necessary.

I used needle nose pliers to bend off the metal ears off of these all metal digital servos to make them fit.

Love these servos; the action is butter smooth and they are practically noiseless when they move.

I purchased a 4 cell battery box for AAA sized batteries and connected the stobe modules in parallel to it. The box has an on-off switch and makes things much more convenient since I do not have to use a separate 3.7 LiPo for each strobe module.

My new HK L-59 is ready for maiden but I have some concerns and in need of some advice.

The all up weight is 4200g (with 100g extra weight in the nose for CG). The trust is 1700g.
Will it have enough power ?

The setup is :
Motor

Fan
http://edfhobbies.com/index.php?rout...&product_id=83
2x 4S lipos (8S) compact zippy 4500mah 35C
120 ICE2 HV esc
Digital metal gear HK servos
RC Lander retracts
No white fuel tanks added , only the red ones in the end of each wing.
Current draw - 120 Amps, drops to 112 after a few seconds. About 3300Watts.
Is my all up weight normal ? is the thrust normal ? What is your AUW and thrust ?

Hi Sharon,

Maybe I'll write a bit more tomorrow when I have more time ... but 3200 W seems plenty. Yes your weight is a bit on the high side (mine is posted somewhere above, I think; the lander retracts are heavy from what I recall) - but with a nice smooth asphalt runway you should be ok.

Your static thrust seems a bit low, but perhaps it was not measured right.

You have a very goof fan with a motor I don't know ... maybe the motor is ok.

Make sure you check the CG with what I list on the first page of this thread !
