I would hate to see it too. But the cure is for the republican to nominate conservatives who stand by a conservative party platform. If they do not, they only have themselves to blame.

Unfortunately most Americans are not what you would call "conservative", at least based on what a conservative is now a days. The meaning of a "true" conservative seems to have an ever changing definition given the manic voting preferences being displayed in the repub nomination process today, giving a new meaning to PIO (pilot induced oscillations). Politically Induced Oscillations are now causing nausea, vomiting and panic in the repub ranks causing the party faithful to seek out anyone, even a flip flopping moderate like Romney or a corrupt career Washington insider like Newt to regain some control. I'm glad I'm on the ground watching all of this

I think Ralph Nader is a revolutionary. The last thing a revolutionary wants to happen is for a fairly reasonable government to come to power. I think he ran specifically to help President Bush get elected, with the idea that his term would be bad enough that the revolution would profit. If he had not run, Al Gore would have been elected and the would would be a _________ place. (Fill in the blanks according to your view on the matter.)
