Anyone recognize this plane and know who the owner is? Just saw this on KSL:

I decided to go fly a couple gassers at Lehi this morning. Not quite ready with the Habu. Close... just need some extra time to get it all right.

I really wanted to go actually, but I just couldn't justify the extra time with all the other stuff I had to do... however. I was able to get a little fly time. What a great day for flying at the Lehi field. Couldn't have asked for nicer weather.

Got some HD footage of the Extra 260. Looks nice at full screen.

Some HD footage of my Aeroworks 35cc Extra 260. Has DL 50 w/ skywriter smoke pump. (8 min 47 sec)

There was actually a lot of people there. Although "Bonneville jets" would have been better off being called "Bonneville glider tug day" . There was a bunch of humongous gliders and some very cool tug planes. I did manage to burn 5 gallons of jetA.

If I can get the nose retract on my Habu fixed it's pretty much RTF. Over the weekend I started looking at the F18 instructions/parts. That's going to be a lot of fun to build over the winter. Hopefully I can finish it during that time and be ready come spring to make it go really fast.

What's wrong with youre Habu's gear? I have one and I love it. The hardest part of flying it is slowing it down for landing.

The bearing on the worm gear fell apart. Causes the gears not to make contact so the motor just spins and no retract up/down. Apparently I have to send it back to horizon to have them fix it since they don't sell spares and nobody has compatible worm gears/bearings that I could find.

I just got around to reading the Glitch for October. Now I feel bad I didn't go to the Spanish Fork Air Show Perhaps next year.

For me the issues with events are 1) getting them on the calendar far enough in advance and 2) the amount of fly time available.

I shied away from the SF event and went to Grantsville instead because I hadn't had hardly any fly time this summer and was wanting to maximize the amount of stick time. So I tend to like fun fly events where you can get a lot of time in the air.

Just got email from Elwyn about them crack filling the runway the next couple days.

Now that is something newsworthy!

Yes, It's happy news just before the weather caves in on us. Was beginning to wonder if we would ever see the day.

I'd like to this week if the weather is good. Maybe Saturday.

I think I got all the rest of it's quirks worked out. Shortened the main strut springs so that the struts straightened all the way and didn't bind on closing. I was going to have Aaron come and check things over as well to make sure I didn't forget anything. Other than that I just need a quick range check
