Terry, thanks for trying to improve.

Style is a personal thing and some folks will like the changes and some won't.

BUT there are a couple of things that are pretty obvious to anyone I think.

1) The two banners at the top take up a HUGE amount of screen real estate. On a low resolution monitor the actual threads hardly even get on the screen. I know the "Check out the latest beta style one " will go but it would be really smart to make the commercial banner space just a bit smaller if you could. It really gets in the way and i am sure irritates rather than entices.
2) A big design fault IMO is that the thread title is now very unobtrusive in the cascading menu at the top. See attached. I subscribe to hundreds of threads and it is really useful to know at a glance which one you are in. I found the old style much better for this.

Regards

John

I'm with jj604 on this - almost at least.

Love the new look - in its fluid version, that is.
The navigation menu is slick, but...
Please also(?) put the thread title in the blue bar along with "Thread tools" etc.

Well, as Mel Blanc used to say, " I must not be very observatary" I didn't even notice a change. But, I tend to be very focused on what I came here for so the peripherals just don't register. It does look less cluttered and that's a good thing.

Looks nice. Definitely like the "fluid" option best to better use the area on my wide screen monitor. But I like the classic style too.

Now that's a good idea, I'm no techy and don't know if it's possible but it sure would be sweet if it was.

I'd also like to see a jump to first unread post button right from the "My RCG" page instead of the jump to last post as it is now, surely a better place for it than on the first page of the thread.

As for the style I have no problem with it, when it comes to style you'll never keep everyone happy. What ever it's still the best rc site I've ever come across, thanks for that.

I like it, but then again, I'm partial to blue.

awesome!

it appears to be in a 4:3 aspect ratio tho. will the finished version fill my whole screen? I kinda like that about the current version, although I suppose I could get used to this.

.....oh, ok by switching to fluid it fills the whole screen now. sweet. looks much better!

Thumbs up on the latest. I didn't care much for the last few beta styles, but this one is clean and easy to read.

please test new design in mobile browsers

For me this new design is not working well on my Android tablet. Android is 4.0.

I think as time goes on more and more users will be using "small screens". Please consider detecting this and serving up a mobile version of the site designed around these devices.

Thanks,
Jim

There is a mobile version of the site already...

Personally, I prefer the full version on my Android tablet & phone, but for those rare times I experience a slow network connection, the mobile version comes in handy.

Great new look on the site. Displays fine on all tiny mobiles, ipads, etc.

I too like the new look look in the fluid style but would like to see the thread title in the blue bar inline with the Thread Tools as other have already said.
The only other thing is moving the My RCGroups etc to just above the same blue bar inline with the page numbers.

Other than that I'll keep it set on the Fluid style from now on.

I don't like it. The blue is very distracting. I tried it out for a while and then switched back to classic.
