Dream machine - What would you build?

I got the idea for this thread from a PC hardware over-clocking forum.
The idea is you post your dream heli spec, it is up to you whether it be a "no expense spared" build, through the "sensible, affordable but quality" build, right down to a "2 balloons and a jam jar with pocket fluff for spare change" budget build.

On the PC forum it taught a lot of new members what could be done and opened some great debate on hardware configs etc and I hope it will do the same here.

I'd love to start the ball rolling, but frankly I am one of those new members who hope to learn from the thread as I am not experienced enough to post anything informative yet. Hopefully it will grow into a searchable catalogue of heli setups.

So go for it...what is on your "Dear Santa" list?

Try keep a format of :
Model:
Size:
Motor:
ESC:
LiPo:
Servos:
Rx:
Gyro:
Mods:
What you would change from the standard spec etc.

If money was no object, it would be a Turbine Mongoose helicopter tucked inside of a USMC AH-1W or Z Cobra. Since money is something I don't have heaps of, a Thunder Tiger 325 tucked inside of the matching AH-1W would do just fine.

turbines certainly sound the part, would you go as big as you could? like 800 size?

what would you run hardware wise on these 2 configs?

Well then, I'd start with one of these, and build around it.

I've always liked the idea of no nitro or battery chargers - just a gas can like the one I use for the lawn mover. Even at todays prices, a gallon of gas and a bottle of 2-stroke oil is a lot less than a gallon of nitro.

But remember, you still have radio gear batteries and starter batteries. 10 years ago when I had a kyosho concept I thought "wouldn't it be nice to just fly on a battery" no fuel spills, no pumps, no glow plugs, no starters, no cleaning the exhaust grease from the model.

Seemed a little new to nose in, too . I like watching the jets fly, plank or rotary, but I wouldn't want to own one; something about them seems to tell me it would be bad if something went wrong. But the miniature turbines have a fantastic draw just the same.

Probably many of us have built our dream helis already; for my part, there are some I'm curious about, but a Logo with mad power and high quality controls is enough Nirvana for me.
