My kit arrived this evening. Everything seems to be in good shape. If I would've known it was going to be this nice I would have ordered 2. Beautifully covered. I'm blown away with my $50 kit.
I'm leaning more toward 4S now. This thing is big.. and I want plenty of power to get out of trouble.

thanks. Flying field is the result of the housing bust- I suppose that's the only good thing that came out of it. The city built and paved the roads, then the developers decided to stop building after the housing bust.

given the heavy aluminum tube joining the wings, I think the struts are mostly for show. The top of the cockpit looks weaker than the wing. For normal flying, I don't think there is a problem. I wouldn't go doing full power dives with hard pullouts in any case. It's not a 3d monster.

A lot of old wings were joined in the middle with a little piece of aircraft ply or lite ply that only went into the wings about 4". Lightly glassing the joint was a good idea, as a lot of wings folded in those days. Modern tube joiners are a lot stronger, When I pull on the tips, there is almost no flex in my wings, even without the struts. I will probably do most of my flying with struts though, as I think they look cool.

unpacked the kit, checked it over and started assembly. It looks impressive (its my first) and definitely great value for money!

I was a little concerned about the aileron/wing assembly, those hinges look very thin and initially one or two of the slots did not line up but i soon resolved that. I applied plenty of CA and ensured there was the full range of movement before, during and after the CA set.

Mounted the aileron servos onto their blocks too, im impressed that the cub comes with so much hardware. LG looks strong, i wonder if they have made revisions?

You mean LG does not look strong?

BTW - Where's your windshield and windows?

The LG is the weakest part of this plane. I tried taxiing mine and the LG collapsed on me with the supplied rubber bands. I'm going to reinforce mine like others have done. And if that fails, I'll get the Eflight one.

PM me when you do the maiden.

I'll make the drive across the river...

Which field do you fly at?

I'll inspect the cub's wing struts tonight.

here's my cessna:

Hi;this video must been recorded back in the old days.
What landing gear do you have on your cub? I need a new one.
