maiden mine this evening, terrible result. I am an experienced pilot, and I can't believe that I fail on a cub! Once the cub climbed up 2 meters above ground, then it starting to has some nasty un-controllble stall to the right. I try took off twice, both happen the same. The second try end up some damages on the right wing tip and a broken motor mount.
My setup is 4s 2200mah, HobbyKing Donkey ST4010-820kv, 12x4, AUW is 2245g. With this setup, the donkey motor barely supplied enough power. I will change to 13' prop or try the heads-up hobby motor 3542-11 next time.

I need to rebuilt the motor mount tonight, and try to find out what cost the un-controllble right tendence stall.

where was your CG?, sound like it would be underpowered, I'm going to run a 4260-06 with 13x6.5 and 5000mah 4s, 112 oz thrust @ 54 amps (820 watts) Cg is perfect at 70mm back of LG

That's starting to worry me...I'm only at 63 ounce thrust! But my cub is barely hitting 70 ounces AUW though...

I always look at watts per pound and like it in the 130-150 range for this type of aircraft, I over power everything, nothing worse than not being able to power out of my thumbs

Plus it is easier to prop down, cell down that change a motor

Maybe under power set up, batt ok, prop and motor?, the recomended set up calls in for a 13X4 prop, I did run mine with a G15 and a 13X6 with a 3300mAh 3's it lifted the plane fine but I felt it still under powered, Upgrade the motor with a power 32(E-flite) and a will test tomorrow with same prop but a 2650 mAh 4s this time.

MHO I was always told that you should have a least 100 watts per pound. My self I like to go a little beyond that, you don't have to fly at WOT but it sure is nice to have the power when you realy need it.

A 12x4 prop? That's not enough prop, not enough torque to pull the plane along. It's stalling on you. You don't want top end speed you want low end grunt for a cub.

Thank you all for these feedbacks. It should be underpower with my setup and cost the stall. I can't cheap on the motors anymore. Need to look for a motor has more "horse power"

Is that over rated?

That motor is smaller than your donkey one. Look at the HK sk3 series around 190grs or so....should be plenty. The donkey should be fine too, just needs bigger prop
