Benboy207 - Sells items multiple times

Someone had already paid for an item. I apparently offered more money so he thought he could just refund the other buyer and take my money. This is not acceptable behavior for any seller.

I made a deal and paid. The item was to ship monday.
I dont like these make an offer listings. it is too much like an auction but with a greater chance of getting ripped off.
I did get my money back.
He also offered the heli to me again after dfbonney asked for his money back.

Why post things like this without a detailed back story ?

Oh wow, first time I've seen this. The title 'Sells items multiple times' is not a fair statement in my mind. I refunded someones money because I was offered more by someone else. I understand that this may have not been the best choice, but I falsely assumed that it was acceptable to do this after someone did the same thing to me. My fault. I get it. I did everything I could to make things right, refunded all money and offered to pay for any shipping to return parts that the first buyer may have ordered. Any time I've had a deal go wrong in the past and the seller made right buy it, no one posted bad feedback or negative trader ratings. Check all of my other trader ratings, perfect. Was there really a need to do that when I made the situation right? Again I have learned my lesson and no one got hurt in the process, but I feel the need to say something. Sorry for such a late post, but this is the first time I came across it.

Kudos for making everything right. But think about it, your word is your bond on sites like this. The first person you say sold to is it. I wont say more, as I feel its not needed now.

The first person who you take their money from is it (sometimes people drag their feet after they said 'i'll take it') ... If you want to wait for offers dont give our your PP.

Good on you man you made it right. Now we should all let it go and not turn this into a 30+ page post flaming each other about something totally unrelated. He clearly did not "scam" anyone he just tried to get the most money for an item and fixed his mistake.

There is a bigger issue with people doing things like this, people need to stop and think about the consequences of the person sending the money. First off is on a bigger purchase does the person have to OK it with a wife, or parents? What did they have to do to OK the purchase.

Second is how someone pays for the purchase, whether its paypal or money order. If its a money order think of the time the buyer could have spent getting it, then the hassle of getting the money out if its already made out. Or if the buyer takes money from his bank account and transfers it to paypal, you back out of the deal, and he finds a better deal local, but has to wait to get the funds back into his bank account, then misses out on both deals.

An Ok to an I'll take it should be a deal, escpecially if there is an exchange of money or goods, if a better deal comes along then you be a man and live with it. Anything else is poor business.

This has been discussed several times before. The general agreement is that you can sell to anyone you want and refuse for any reason you want given it is your stuff you are selling. With that said, there tends to be the unspoken law stating that you should follow through on all deals you make meaning in my humble opinion that when you take money, you no longer own the item so you mail it. Still, I respect that you desire to make this right and admit you learned a lesson so I think we can all move forward and feel pretty darn good about everyone involved ... hey, I'd buy from you after this

Yes, kudos to Benboy207 for cleaning it up right away.

I will say that it is always important to check not only your PM's, but also your threads, as some members may only post on your thread.
