Eventually a better radio would be nice, just not my top priority in RC at the moment. Maybe next year. I'm interested in at least playing around with new DX18 that just came out.

I have read and done a few buddy box setup on some radios but this was my first time to setup a Futaba. I am impressed with so much options available with different settings. It took me and Andy sometime which is our usual way of doing things. At the end it worked flawless.

I had the option to transfer any particular control to you, also the option to give you dual rates or have a mix control with an option to override your controls. So I would call this very sophisticted. It would be alot easier if I could copy the model file to Andy's 14MZ.

BTW, you flew with full control except the control on the kill switch and not at single point I took control in that 10 minutes of your flight. You flew great without any problem.

You do not need to learn it. You know RC and that is what Futaba radios are.....intuitive... be a man, and get one.

If I was flying Spektrum/JR, I would go with these receivers (Powersafe) instead of going the Smart Fly way. I am not sure how safe these PowerSafe receivers are but they have a solution to avoid the use of a separate power system.

I think that's the route I'm going to in the new Krill, Specifically AR12120 is the DSMx version with PowerSafe. I've been trying to find a decent review of them.

I had one of those in my first 33%. The only problem with these is they don't regulate the voltage to each servo unless they got better since I had mine. Still need two Rx batteries and the ignition battery. After using it I determined it was a poor choice. You will have to use your trim or a choke servo for the kill switch. From what I remember you have to get a heavy a$$ nimh batteries.

I believe you can use lipos but then you need regulators for each one before going into the Rx. Saying that it depends on the servos that you're using. HV then no problem but if you're using the standard 6V then you have to add regulators. Basically what goes in is what goes out. I think it can handle up to 10V.

What radio are you flying again? How many servos on the new plane?

Wow is that a pitch or what? Lol. Buy it already. See if the foodaba has a switch on there for a good deal.
