It was really was another wonderful SMALL. The weather gods smiled upon us, with just enough rain to keep things sort of cooled off. Wonderful temps, reasonable wind conditions and the usual great gathering of great folks.

I brought too many models, like Larry did...
But did get to fly the most of them.

I brought 32 models, plus a couple of rocket gliders, (plus one non SMALL model for after hours)

Ended up flying 22 of the models, but it was nice to have the option of flying the others if I wanted to.. (Flew one other model after hours at SMALL, since it was oversize, the big foam Skyraider, so 23 models flown, in total). I think the total number of flights I got in over Wed-Sunday was around 70, plus a few for other folks.

Already looking forward to next year!

Speaking of multis, one of my favorite magical SMALL moments occurred when Kevin Wilfong made a low pass with 4-stroke powered Twinstar(which, unknown to him, had a dead engine) while Thomas B flew inverted next to him with the Cessna 310. When Kevin turned crosswind, the Twinstar went into the weeds unhurt.

We've still got 3 driving hrs ahead of us to get home as I post this.

Thomas B was The Man at the fly-in. For several days he was always looking up with a transmitter in his hand or furiously prepping for his next flight. I didn't see him rest much during the event. He still managed to take time to offer technical help to the rest of us when needed. Thanks, Tom!

I got some footage of the hiliarity in getting it ready to fly and the test attempts. I did not get the final "good" flight of the Terror-dactyl, but I will post what I got as soon as I can.

Glad there is no "Most Time on the Flightline" plaque.
Tom would be a shoe-in every year

Flying Steve's pteradon was my favorite SMALL moment of the event.

If Kevin and I had tried to do that formation pass on purpose, it would never have been as close and as perfectly in sync as it turned out to be by accident ....
