Quadcopter won't start

Hi everyone,

I just finished assembling my first quadcopter, using the hobbyking control board (2.1).

I tested every motor by itself to check if they all span in the right way, then I plugged everything into the board, the battery to the ESCs, and all ESCs sang at the same time that little melody who gave me hope that everything was going to work, but when I increase the throttle nothing happens

What did I do wrong?

Thanks

Did you arm the board? (Rudder stick right, throttle at minimum for a couple of seconds.)

You probably have to arm the board. Throttle down, full rudder to the right.

EDIT: Darn, beat me to it.

*Most* copter software requires it to be armed.

Did you try arming it ?

<edit> beaten to it

I tried but nothing happens...

I have a mode 1 controller (throttle and ailerons on right stick), maybe I'm doing it wrong ?

When I plug the battery the LED flashes once and then shuts off...

Maybe you've reversed the throttle. Also, make sure the end points are set to 100%. Also, you could try to trim the throttle down a bit just in case you're not in the "arm zone". Not sure what else to say at this point.
