Yeah I'm up past my bedtime so this will probably be full of typos.
Thank goodness I don't have to be up early in the morning.

Steering servos arrived today so I've been "busy" ever since getting home from work. Got one in and that's all it's going to get for now. Another one on the opposite side will come after there's a tiller arm to attach it to. One should be sufficient as long as the long push rod doesn't start flexing on me.

Ran the plumbing for the motor too. Used a mixture of the tygon line and aluminum tube. Kinda looks cleaner and the aluminum should flow water better too. (not to mention that I didn't have enough tygon to do full length lines on hand either)

I just might get this one wet tomorrow. Had to use one piece of silicon tubing to hook up the esc but the plumbing is finished. (until I can get some more tygon).

Still to do is shorten the wires on both the motor and battery to esc connections. I loaded it up with batteries to be sure and can cut the battery leads back to where the electrical tape closest to the bullets is wrapped around them.

Checked the cg while it was loaded and it's 1/8" shy of the 35% mark I was shooting for. Guess that would make it around 33-34% haven't done the math yet.

edit: stuck a few decals on it so it wouldn't be totally naked when it shows up at Ackerman tomorrow.

Looks great Bill...............in your eagerness to get it wet, do yourself a big favor and double check everything! Trying to get it thrown together for a run tomorrow can lead to disaster if its all not right.

Bolts all tight
Cooling lines routed correctly
Cooling lines on well and secured by zip ties
etc...................

I like shortening all my wires as well...............saves amps!!

Yeah, this was a pretty quick build. The thread is showing 10 days old tonight. I think that may be a new record for me.

I did check all the bolts & nuts before installing the steering servo and cooling lines last night. (easier to get to that way).
Cooling lines are routed the right way (in on the low side out on the high) but didn't put zip ties on them. None of my other boats have them either. That tygon fits so tight it's almost impossible to pull back off by hand once the spit used for getting them on evaporates.

I'm not going to be pushing it hard tomorrow. Starting with a X455/2 and only going to run 9s 2p. It's mostly just to get it wet and check handling at a moderate speed. I'll probably just do a couple of laps and bring it in to check for leaks and temps before finishing off the packs.

I only use zip ties on the thru hull connections myself...............i know what you mean about the tygon being extremely hard to get off..........i usually have to cut a slit to loosen 'em up and then nip off the last 1/4" when re-fitting. I use tygon in all my boats as well.

That could be considered semi-mild for an intitial setup. I think a cat will want 10s though when ready for full race mode..........i bet the 455 is about what it will like on 10s................we'll see. Get some vid!!!!! (and gps.........58mph)

I must say Bill, she ran quite well for her first "wetting", so, I give you... Domino Derval.
