Build Log
Micro Tiporare

So I started this build log in the indoor and micro section but thought that maybe this would be a good place to post it as well as I may get more/some better input on it. So I started out scaling down plans 10 size plans that doxilla had made. It is an all balsa build and I will be using the ultra micro sbach electronics by eflite.

The wingspan on this bird is about 18 inches. The fuselage is taking shape but still need to get the canopy to look better...more rounded

This is as far as I have gotten so far. I need to start trying to fit the electronics in it now. There isnt much room as these fuselages were very narrow.

That thing is adorable!

What type of finish will it have?

Not sure yet if I will try and monokote it with the ultralite monokote or if I will just get the airbrush out and paint it as is.

I love micros!

How much does it weigh right now? What's the wing area?

As it is right now, I put it on the scale and also put all of the electronics and the battery on the scale too, it came out at 83 grams. It still needs the rudder and elevators put on it and the bottom of the fuse close up as well. I hope to come in total weight at 90 grams before the covering or paint, whichever i choose.

I do agree though Ralph. Some class cloth would be cool though

Nice work!

I'm glad to hear that the T10 plans have turned out to be T02 plans!

I'm curious to know how she balances with motor and rudder installed but no radio or battery. My T10 turned out rather tail heavy primarily due to the brick pushrod I used - a glass DB shaft, something I still need to change.

I assume it's practically all built from 1/16" sheet?

Cover it with solarlite (or whatever that light stuff is called). The paint might be too much for a flying micro Tipo!

Doxilla, as it sits right now, it is pretty tail heavy but hope that the motor will help offset that. I did use mostly 1/16 sheet and some 3/32 for the formers and wing ribs. I may end up being a lead sled but hopefully she will fly, if not then I can hang it up at least in my shop and look at it.
