There is a clamp ring on the inside of the piston that can be adjusted up or down to vary the height of the piston to give different exh/transfer timing(and piston to head space too) It can be adjusted for different rpm's desired or for say a pipe. It is supposed to be locktited after selected. I just ran it up once to hear it and never played with anything after. more pics with the cs .049, Ucktam .15 piped, most of the X.15 and head.

The one with the trimmed venturi has tarmac scars on the exhaust side as well. Ironically internally it's in excellent condition and turned the APC 9 x 7 the best of all four. It was about $30 off ebay. I believe that the Fox 40BB aka the "Golden 40", was the first commercial engine of it's size to top 1 BHP on a magazine engine test. Best of all it only weighed 8 ounces. Alan,
Thank you for the .pdf's. The RYOT system definitely goes to show the amount of thought and effort put into meeting the needs of the "performing" modeler. The site below includes a picture of the disassembled engine. http://www.gregorie.org/freeflight/f1j/va/va.html KP |

And even more glow engines at this post.
http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1402733 For those unaware of it, I've been through both the diesel and glow topics and collected together all the engine test reports scattered through all those pages here. |

John, you know that Andy has Jack Finnerans original Rattler, don't you. + the letter that H&R sent jack with the engine. Now that's rare. Cheers Fredo |

Anyone know what this mystery engine is?
It's most likely a recent Russian product, may be a 2.5cc F2D engine and may be made by NV, the new incarnation of Norvel. It appears in a pic on the NV splash page with current production "Norvel" engines. See: http://www.nvengines.com |
