Some more. The X .15 head is kind of different, with an offset plug and combustion chamber. It used a motor specific plug which likely isn't available. Kind of like the Nelson plug without a taper. The other motor is a VA .049 RYOT. (Roll your own timing.)

The ST head was made for running alky. They made a normal head for nitro.

Could you explain what "Roll Your Own Timing" means? I would suppose it has to do with glow head shimming, but I don't know how that is unique.

There is a clamp ring on the inside of the piston that can be adjusted up or down to vary the height of the piston to give different exh/transfer timing(and piston to head space too) It can be adjusted for different rpm's desired or for say a pipe. It is supposed to be locktited after selected. I just ran it up once to hear it and never played with anything after. more pics with the cs .049, Ucktam .15 piped, most of the X.15 and head.

That's very interesting. I'd love to see what that looks like; maybe I'll have to add a VA to the list.

Yes, spot on!

The one with the trimmed venturi has tarmac scars on the exhaust side as well. Ironically internally it's in excellent condition and turned the APC 9 x 7 the best of all four. It was about $30 off ebay.

I believe that the Fox 40BB aka the "Golden 40", was the first commercial engine of it's size to top 1 BHP on a magazine engine test. Best of all it only weighed 8 ounces.

Anyone know what this mystery engine is?

It's most likely a recent Russian product, may be a 2.5cc F2D engine and may be made by NV, the new incarnation of Norvel.

It appears in a pic on the NV splash page with current production "Norvel" engines.
