JR Models P-38 !!Added VIDEO!!

Just finished my JR Models P-38 kit. Not true scale, but pretty close.
48" wingspan with XT400 motors, 18A ESCs, and 3s 2200mah battery. Weighs 38oz, and draws 22amps, pulls 268 watts. Painted with Krylon and graphics by Callie.
Hope to maiden this weekend.

Very nice I had one many years ago but never finished it before selling it on. Fortunatly I hope I'm about to get another Your looks great look forward to hearing how the maiden goes.

Do you have working rudders? I'd like to see how you've connected up the controls for them if you do, same for the elevator for that matter. On my origianl kit i was thinking of rnning a push rod out of the rear of the center pod directly to the elevator, but never got that far.

Here's the video of the 2nd flight. Really good flying model. Fast and groovy, with no quirks, that I have found. I have to say I am happy.

Nice looking and flying model, good job!

I was hoping to see that you in fact did get working retracts into it. I've been researching to see if I can shoehorn them in. I have thoughts that mine will be powered by a small set of the same BL motors as in my Funfighter Corsair.

Getting MAP retracts is easy, just email John at Model Aviation Products. Great guy to deal with. Use to fly indoor free flight with him.

I was hoping to go electric retracts. It looks like the 15-25 sized ones should work.

If you're at 38oz. I should be able to keep mine less than 50 oz. Should fly quite well at that weight!
