I do believe your "longest distance" will be limited not by shape/size/powertrain/etc. but by your transmitter range unless you have autopilot fully autonomous system with GPS. longest distance is actually "furthest distance". So give it a try and post your results.

V. Mr. Lifter - Furthest Distance, need on-board video with OSD data showing distance. Single charge, round-trip distance.

But that is an important point, so flying a circle with e.g. 500m Diameter as long as the batteries are over is NOT ok? Since with FPV, and an EzTracker (for example) the measurement of the total way done, is no problem, you can even replay the flight with a player seeing the route withing google-maps.

I understood this like fly arround, record with a video (with OSD info), and at the end return to the startpoint. The distance flown will then be presented by the OSD flight summary.

Here I would ask for a clarification.

just "go for distance" and show your flight with OSD.

Also we need to add Mr. SPEED contests (OSD, FPV required). I would say 100m, 500m, 1km (all round trips).

You could use an LRS, which would outlast your video signal and battery charge.

The idea is the furthest distance away from home. That's measured with an OSD. It is not the distance traveled. So flying a circle infront of you is something different -- probably could be entered into the longest flight time category.

Yes, I think that would be ok. You just have to have video and OSD of some sort to show it. And you have to make it back. This requires careful planning of your waypoints if you want to do it with APM mission planner.
