Kim Get some .040 Styrene from the hobby shop. Hobby people has it locally. (or a model RR shop)
It takes paint well. Be sure to sand the surface to be painted first.

I'm making a new nose door for my Shubie Habu now with the same stuff.
The original was built for me with the hinges on the opposite side. The cheapie hair bungy closure method works better for me than the zig zag folded music wire. Plus it doesn't get in your way if you need to make adjustments to the nose steer linkage.

You can also use some thin gage aluminum sheeting from your local hobby shop. It bends easily and can be cut with scissors or metal snips.

Look here on this page http://www.horizonhobby.com/products...df-arf-EFL8075 click the parts and acessories tab, then "parts listing" on the left side...scroll down half way.

6.50 for them plus cockpit floor and others parts....painted. not worth the hassle starting from scratch when they are so cheap from Horizon

Ok. I saw "plastic for habu 32 gear doors" and thought I would save you some time

As stated, most local hobby stores that carry trains will have the plastic you are looking for.

Kim,
The Styrene is packaged as an "Evergreen Plastics" product.
You might try Evetts Model shop by you.
http://evettsmodelshop.com/

Allied Models trains on Sepulveda will have it for sure.

There's always the Hobby People near the Basin at Burbank and Balboa.
