This functions during recording as well. But the camera firmware is different. The firmware linked below is ONLY for the original camera with NO video out function. I just got this information about a new full HD 1080p version of the small "keychain" variety of HD cameras from the developers of the popular #11 HD and new #16 HD "keychain" cameras. The 1080p version is expected to be released around Jan. 10, 2012. It will come in two different case designs as noted in the attached picture. One has the lens on the narrow end and the other on the flat side. The case sizes are similar to the "Jumbo #11" camera (see my dedicated thread for more info). Circuit board pictures and some sample still photos are also attached.

Some basic specs:

1. Sensor: OV5653 5MP CMOS
2. Lens: 62 deg. AOV (120 deg. AOV to follow later)
3. Video Formats: 1920 x 1080p @ 30 fps; 1280x720p @ 60 fps; H.264 MP4

Very interesting - I suspect the 1280x720 / 60 fps mode will be more useful for AP.

It says its 60 fps at 720, which if true could be knocking on the door of hero territory given a stable mount.

Interesting, but it's getting to the point with these little cams where if I add up what I spent on mini dv's I could have bought one slightly larger camera. MInd you, this wasn't available a year or so back.

Techmoan's review of this which is available for £110 is amazing. Admittedly too big for small rc models, it still has a whole host of features and stunning video quality.

Yeah, A/V out would be great!
And would be nice if they could provide original unedited video sample, so that we could see file size, video bit rate, real quality etc

Video looks good, but it does look a lot bigger. Since its not an 808 format, it shouldn't have a number.

Haven't even received the new #16 yet,,, but it's obsolete already.. And the new firmware that made it look good enough for me to order it is now on hold..
