Hitec X4 AC Plus AC/DC Four-Channel Multi-Charger

Looking for user reviews on this balancing charger...

Hitec X4 AC Plus AC/DC Four-Channel Multi-Charger

I have been reading what I can find out there...which is fine...but I have not really seen much in the way of "USER" reviews?

It seems that at least "on paper" this charger would be to "die for" at least for the the smaller size type packs I use....

So...why doesn't everyone have one of these by now??

I believe it could be manufactured under the name Quattro 6?...at least the prior DC only version was....

I appreciate any feedback you can give!

I am not a battery expert compared to most people here... But I bought this charger a few months ago and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Very easy to use... Each charger goes to 6 amps, and each one can independently balance.

Super sweet for me.

...no...I haven't "pulled the trigger" on it....there are very few reviews...but for the most part...all positive...
They are on the expensive side...so i want to make sure its "the one" that will last me awhile...

well....if you could report back what you think about it.....I'd really appreciate it!
I haven't been to Baylands forever, as I live in Pleasanton, and can fly in a lot of places closer to here...but if you ever plan on flying out there on a weekend..and can take the charger..I'd love to check it out......on paper the charger seems perfect for the packs I'm using....

I am also looking at this charger and could use the feedback. The LHS had one but the people working there today didn't know too much about it and couldn't answer my questions

The only functional difference between the Hitec X4 AC Plus and the original Hitec X4 is the X4 AC Plus can be powered by 100-120V AC or 12-15V DC and the original X4 can only be powered by 12-15V DC. The front panel is laid out differently on the AC Plus and it has battery connectors on both sides versus only one side for the original X4, but the menu system, output specifications, and computer connectivity are identical to the original X4.

Consequently you can read any of the dozen or more threads on the original X4 and get a good feel for whether you'll like the AC Plus or not. My own opinion is spelled out in detail in several of those threads, but the short version is I like my X4 a lot and while I haven't had any trouble with it, I take comfort in the fact that I can send it ~100 miles south of here to San Diego for repairs if I ever do.

Hey Pete...you seem very knowledgeable on the topic....is there significant difference between Q6 AC/DC and the Hitec X4 Plus AC/DC?..I lean toward Hitec for their reputation...but there can be a significant price difference...from what I've seen anyway...
thanks

The only thing I know about the Q6 AC/DC is it looks kind of like a Hitec X4 Plus, and I only learned that just now when I Googled "Q6 AC/DC" to see what it was. Consequently, I'm probably not the best person to ask.

I will say this, though: I had my Hitec X4 in one hand and an X4 clone (HobbyKing Quattro 4x6S) in the other at last year's RCX show and the Hitec weighed significantly more. So we opened them up to see why and the Hitec definitely had beefier looking components in it as well as a lot less point-to-point wiring.

They both seemed to work, though, and I have no clue whether the same would be true if you compared the X4 Plus AC/DC to the Q6 AC/DC.
