Turnigy motors

These are a few of the motors i got my free go-cart for buying.

These are very nice, strong cogging, well built and 4 pole..............not to mention a real cool feel to the can surface. The 3665 is going in a Truck, but i may use the 3674 in a boat on 6s. Although the 3665 2100kv could be a very good candidate for 26-32" boats on 4s...........

Getting ready to solder 5.5 bullets on each..............

Just got in from running the 3665 in my extended wheelbase Emaxx after adding 5.5 bullets...............wheelies with ease and has some brutal acceleration on 2 x 2s 5800 40c batts. I think these 4 pole 36mm motors will really catch on, i'm estimating about a 20-25% power increase over a same size 2 pole motor with more low end power.........very nice for $40.

Ran it in this truck:

Vid of the 3665 4 poler.......................very strong motor, it sure moves out this heavy Emaxx on 4s..............

These 36mm motors are gonna be makin' some noise in boats is my guess............... This 3665 2100kv would be great in 26-32" hulls..................

Emaxx Tundra with Turnigy 4 pole 3665 (1 min 25 sec)

Hi Scorp,

After seeing the video, I'm convinced those motors have torque, but, how much runtime should I expect with this 3665 2100KV on 4S in my Arowana, turning a 42K prop (at least...)?

Regards, Jan.

I'm sure the efficiency level is higher than a comparable 2 poler, my guess would be 15-20% longer runtime. On 5000 40c batts it should give in the 5-6 minute range minimum. I'd sure recommend it for the arrowana, and for 40 bucks its a real deal.

I bet the 42mm you suggested would be real good for it.

Scorp: im running a turnigy 4074 2000kv / 4s / aquastar120a in my 32" arowana. Impressive motor and runs warm at most.

Jan: With a graupner 45k run time is ~4min 30+. From memory 2 weeks ago pack voltage was 7.65ish v on the charger. I put back roughly 70% into each 2s lipo. With a 48k prop i was putting back the same mah after ~3min 30. The speed was only +1km/hr more @ 65km/hr with the 48k but the initial acceleration was impressive. Just recieved some graupner 42mm 3 blades to try after a minor mix up but unfortunately on the w/e my 4mm shaft snapped at the end of the stinger after i got caught in weed trying to rescue my cousins boat. New stainless shaft on the way, hopefully in time for the w.e. Will post results & hopefully a video in the arowana thread. The shaft snapped before my graupner 'flex drive' adaptor. go figure......

Are you referring to the 2600kv 3656 Turnigy.........if so it's a decent motor and would get a 25" boat going fast on 3s.

It would be a rocket with this one on 4s............

Scorp you gotta put some better shock springs or just go a little heavier on the shock oil, to much bouncing..

It already has xtra firm spring, much stiffer than stock, i like some travel and ability to absorb bumps, heck, it may be bouncy cuz they are too firm.

Bouncy means the oil is too thin (or too many holes in the pistons) for the spring rate being used.

Scorp, I just bought one of these motors' little brother for my mini revo build. I went with the 2850-4400kv, should be pretty nuts on 3s!
