I don't know if the footage is original. I too was surprised to find such footage. I just found the link and posted it.

Looking at the footage carefully there is shiny metal under the exhaust outlets. The V1 had paint that was heat sensitive. The conclusion is that this must be film of Erick van den Hoogens model doctored to look old.

Uwe, awesome handling on that wing, great video.

Stuart, To translate page to English, I use Google chrome as the web browser and in settings there is an option to translate pages to English. Hope this helps.

Uwe,
Your Marumba looks fantastic, very graceful. Looking at your build log, some great ideas there, I will have to study them more.

Nice project! Just about one hour ago I saw and touched a real one The project coordinated by Bernd Ewald is finished and he presented the remaked H-IV today in Darmstadt. I'm speechless... I can't believe I forgot my camera I'm sure there will be some photos later on their web page: http://www.horten-iv.org/

The maiden and flight testing will most probably take place this year!

Cheers

Stuart,

I know, shame on me . I even almost forgot about the talk. By chance I opened the e-mail in the morning and remebered it taking place later in the afternoon. I went straight from work to the airfield in Griesheim runned by the Technische Universität Darmstadt - home of the famous "Akaflieg Darmstadt". It never came to my mind that the true purpose of the talk was to present the finished IV . Amazing considering that this is the only IV that is ready to fly. They have big plans on conducting modern measurements of its performance. The legend around the comparison flight between the D-30 and the H-IV will find an end finally...

I meant of course really having a touch and not only putting a finger on it: full hand on the wings sliding over the surface and feeling the airfoil and wing shape, moving carefully the control surfaces, etc. It was built up in the hangar and everybody was able to walk around and have a really close look on it. I guess any museum would get extremely nervous if you start to do that on a 70 year old restaurated wing

The H-IV is one point in my endless and everyday growing list of projects I want to accomplish...

Cheers
Andrés
