There is no benefit of using a faster write speed card with a camera then is required for the unit. He also probably got a bum camera. The fact that he is older and uglier then me also worked against him .

As for the camera that I used on the Easystar. (On topic). There are a few cases where a class 10 worked. It depends on the make it seems.
I first used the class10 as I already had it.
The class 4 is the recommended one to use. Also a 4 gig is sufficient as with the on board battery only lasts about 1 hour.
With my class 4 and 4 gig I got 56 minutes on a static test. The battery was flat, and I still had a few meg left on the card.

Just ignore my happy and rotund friend from Southern Florida. It's the sun that makes him say those nasty things. (like he did last month to me. )

Looks like you found a good combination for your camera. Whatever works is the right path. My # 16 works good with a class 10 and # 8 with a class 4.

I did forget to tell you that the video of your EZ was pretty nice to watch. You have a really nice area to fly as long as you don't try to make a goal during a landing.

Very power efficient: 18:20 min and 9.4km on 550mAh


Second flight was even longer, but the mAh meter got an off-set as I switched on the OSD before the ESC (leaving the current meter floating freely). Also had to use more power to fight heavy gusts of wind on return flight.

I'm really pleased with the ES performance, It cuises happily along at 3-4 amps, and will do 60km/h at 6-7A if need be. I believe the key is a good motor/prop combo and reasonable aerodynamics. I should be able to get 40-60 minutes FPV flight time on my current 2300mAh pack

3s lipo I assume? So 3-4 amps means about 40W. Nice!

I'm searching for a good motor-prop combo for my new Easystar 2.
I'll be flying fpv with a gopro...just to keep that extra weigth in mind

for the ES2, I find the stock folding prop hard to beat. In my ES2, I use a fairly cheap 2826mm 1000kv outrunner, which is a bit smaller and less powerful than the MPX recommendation (2830mm 1200kv, i think). Still, I get 45 degree climb with my setup, and the benefit of a smaller motor is improved efficiency. I don't think your GoPro will make a major impact on performance, if you mount it as flush as possible.

Superb weather today: I fitted my EasyTwin with smaller 5x4.5x3 props (for better ground/snow clearance) and took her for a low and slow LOS flight.





After many fine touch'n'goes, I got carried away / over confident

But miraculously the Easy emerged from the snowcloud in level flight

Thanks! All three very worth watching, just beautiful! What props are you using, are they 3-blades? I always wonder if it would be economical to have two large props instead of one small prop at the back. It costs extra weight for ESCs and motors but on the other side it could be more efficient.

About video editing, I like Kdenlive a lot and it's for free! It's not for Windows though.
