If you compare pictures of the heli from the internet with your own heli, do you see that the top part of the innershaft is shorter between the 2 rotor pairs?

this would mean that the lower rotor holders were shifted

Agreed. Besides the innershaft issue, the swash mechanism is fundamentally problematic, the basket/bucket by design rubs/spins against the actuator stems, this is plastic against plastic, not very efficient. And even when working perfectly the heli was never that manueverable. That said, I am still impressed (intrigued may be a better word) by the unusual swash design.

I am making an attempt to make the swash bucket longer with strong tape. If that doesn't work i might try to make it bigger using heat shrink and hope it wil turn out perfectly round and smooth.

I tried pushing down the botem rotor again but it is just immovable, which just makes me wonder if that is Really the problem.

I would need to buy a new 1 to be sure what has really broke

Ok I fixed it!!! And it was pretty easy.

To get the swah bucked down anoter way then how it went out of position is to Raise the top Gear that is above the battery.

So there will be a distance between the lower gear and the upper gear. Because you do this there is not enough room left for the battery anymore so you have to move that outside of your heli and atach it to the botem.

I more thing was that i had to move down the little gear that is attached to the right side motor.

Nothing broke -- I have 3 of these and one has the problem of the bucket being too high.
I can't push mine down either.
My big problem is the gears for the top rotor being worn out.

Are the gears lined up right? if not you can push the little gear on the motor in place.

Or are the gears not making good contact which makes the motor knock of the tooth of the main gear?

Anyway , we need spare parts.

I think it could use a better lipo battery but its heavy as it is.

I knocked off some of the side plates for the repair and i kept them off since they seem pretty useless unless you plan on crashing it allot.

The v911 is downright obnoxious compared the HCW 537!

They are all sensitive. I had to trim my 911 too much for flight but have figured which servo does what and adjusted the bell cranks a notch. I tried it in near darkness and I'm encouraged that it will be good to go tomorrow -- winds permitting.

My HCW 536 is still disassembled waiting for me to solder in a replacement battery.

Has anyone tried these helicopters for outdoor "zero wind" flying yet? Are they very good outside in 0 to 2 MPH breeze conditions?

I've been having fun with my MingJi 501 which is a similar-scale 4CH 2.4GHz helicopter (though with a better swash and actuator arrangement) lately, having discovered that early-AM conditions make this viable 3 to 4 days a week. I'll get around to patching up the 536, but I'm not sure I'd buy a second one.

Actually the last thing I need is more helis right now, so it'd be nice to know what to expect once this one gets out of "the hospital."

At least as long as it takes to get my Heli out of a tree :-( I goosed the throttle at

They are both good heli,but the v911 flys faster and more sensitive than the HCW 537

Mebbe so... but you're posting in the wrong forum if you want to tout v911s.

I always fly my 537 first to get cool.......
Then the 911 isn't so fast!
People here may scorn the coax 537
but it is a super little chopper and soooo
forgiving. I just ordered one for my 75 year
old friend. We will fly our 537's, my 911 and
my new F645 !!!!
