Len, awesome Wilga, I'm a big sailplane fan too, I've had 3 Ava's in the past and a Sharonpro. I just wish there was more interest in towing here.

There is an aerotow in TX this year. IT only takes one guy to get things started. You should check into it. Its the best part of RC there is.

Ahh you know me all to well Airsick.

Capt, looks like you might make the maiden before me. Go for it. Forcast this weekend in western Washington might be some scattered snow and I don't have skis for my Wilga.....yet.

I'm all setup myself and ready to go! Lets get some Wilga's in the air!!!

Yes about time for a Wilga a Thon.....

I keep forgeting I'm waiting on a new Tx. pack for my radio that goes in this one, so it depends on when that arrives. I'd also like to make some kind of sliding tray to install the packs in the fuse instead of trying to put them in with one hand.
As you can see in the picture inside the fuse the leads for the wing surfaces are too short to install the reciever on the floor. So I'm going to put the reciever as far aft as possible in the ceiling to get it away from the motor. Thats going to take some time too so dont really see it in the air this weekend.
The Wilga will be flown on an Aurora 9 with Optima 9 Rx. Still have to update the Rx with the latest firmware so there's another project. Yeah it aint goin up this wekend ! This is also a new unprooven Tx and Rx so extensive testing will have to be done, programmimg setup, range tests and failsafe setup going to take a while.

I made some progress tonight, got the radio install done. Now I need that new battery pack for my Tx. before I can zero out all the flight surfaces. I managed to get the reciever a good 18" from the motor so hopefully wont get any interference.
