Rudderman, while mounting the cowling the lower mounts were'nt lining up so I cut the mount assemblies off of the firewall. Then attached the cowl with the upper mount bolts and then epoxied the lower mounts into a better position. Worked out alot better.
I also had to use spacers between the cowl and the top mounts to prevent it from deforming the cowl.
Did you run into this on yours ? Also, on the servo tray in the fuse there's a red stamped number (07) stamped on the assembly, I'm assuming this is a serial number, is there one on yours ?

I did but haven't made the modifications yet. I'll check for the stamp/serial number when I get home from work later tonight.

Very Soon!

Got notification from TBM that the new wing bolts are on the way woo hoo!

But while I wait, more detailing and electronic shakedowns to do since it's freezing this week in Washington.

Bulent & Sluf, cool pictures, thanks for posting. The pics of the tow plane remind me of when we used to pull banners, it was pretty hairy watching that hook swinging back at forth coming at you while you were holding the loop open for it. Never ran so fast in my life ! I'd like to try pulling a banner with this Wilga, no idea what to build a small one out of though. Would be a fun project though, I'll have to put some thought to it and start a banner thread to see what kind of ideas we can get going.

Thanks Len.
Your Wilga is a beauty! Yours is what I hope mine grows up to be someday.

BTW, which mag will the Wilga be featured in??

I'm going to put it in Rc Sport Flyer magazine. Wil Byers is an avid supporter of sailplanes and aerotowing, he has article every month on soaring of one variety or another.
Watch for a whole series of articles soon on towplane, sailplanes and aerotowing, plus some nice new sailplanes coming on the market.

PS. Subscribe to the Mag, support him too.
