Why either or??
I wanted to start with the Wilga, couldn't find a stateside bird at the time, so went with the Porter.. didn't matter really.. still going to end up with both of them! Like your build, looking really good! Sorry to hear of some of the problems. Maybe its just me but lately it seems that the more I spend on a bird the greater some of the quality control problems. Fix and move on, but dang.. sometimes I think I didn't spend to fix defects, but as a Technology Manager I see the same thing in computer systems, guess its the way of the world..

I'll probably do the Wilga as a gasser, somewhere around 30cc.. the Porter is electric, Hacker A60 on 2 5S packs. A real hoot to fly..

Very nice Porter hmarshal!

I was in the same dilemma as you were. No Wilga's in the states but a few Porters. Even though I like both birds, it all came down to space at my home. Pretty much the only reason.

I've have been eyeing the Porters that Esprit has for some time and they look very nice for the price and come in many sizes. I wouldn't count me out of a Porter just yet though. New storage shed going up this coming summer!

All my equipment arrived, might go with dual Optima 6 Lite recievers because I'm not sure yet if one 7 channel is going to do what I need. The prop is a 20x10. Soon as the shop is cleaned up I can get started.

Oh boy!!

I've been lookin at this plane for awhile. Nice to see someone likes wilgas too! I have a fuji 64 layin around that would work nicely i beleive...id have to use a 3 blade 22-23 inch prop i guess. Besides, freinds dont let freinds buy/build Wilgas, but Rick Cawley and Bob W. would love this one!

Well you pretty much nailed the real Wilga, Callie did a fantastic job again ! Nice accent with the Castle logo too.
With the wings on, my slat panels arent lining up, might have to resort to some steaming to persuade them a little.

The guy with the aluminum Wilga is pretty talented !

Incredible what a coat hangar, chopstick, and some epoxy can do.

Did a bit of detailing tonight. Incredible what a coat hangar, chopstick, and some epoxy can do.

I heated the end of the coat hangar with a torch and hammered a flange on each end, then drilled holes to accept screws, and epoxied some ply blocks to the inside for anchors.

Now to file, sand, and paint!
