The channel 5 switch does absolutely nothing. The hi/low rate switch on the right does that.

Glow In The Dark MQX

Here is a better picture with a McDonalds large coca-cola cup cut at the bottom...definitely glows nice in the dark.

Parrot ARDrone style indoor protection kit

Is there any kit to protect the propellers for indoor flight?
A kit like the one for parrot would be a great idea!

All LEDs require a resistor. To not use one is like putting a piece of wire across the battery terminals. Expect the LED to get very hot and bright for about 0.5seconds.

Edit: Unless they are in series and you do the relevant forward voltage calculation. I prefer them in parallel with a resistor.

People have made similar shapes out of lightweight foam or polystyrene ceiling tiles. Can't find the pictures just now. I'm sure someone else will.

You may find the extra weight might make it harder to fly, which might make it more likely you bump into walls, which would mean you'd need protection, which makes it heavier and harder to fly....

I am having trouble with my MQx. When I give it full throttle it goes crazy. Wild gyrations back and forth and nearly zero control over what happens next. Is that caused by something I have set wrong on my DX6i or is there something wrong with the MQx?

Have you done anything to it, changed the blades? Try rebinding it.

If there is an imbalance between motors with respect to power output, there will be the dancing and jigging described above. When I purchased my third one new, with zero crashes, it would go nearly straight up smoothly, but after a couple crashes, it has a bit more wobble to it. Eventually, I expect the performance difference to be more pronounced and will jig around as your does.

No its because with all four motors at full speed, there is nothing left for control.

It's odd how different our experiences are. Mine is still quite new; I've run maybe 8 or 10 batteries through it. I've crashed it many, many times and am amazed how durable it has been. I often fly it over a concrete patio and I've crashed it there from 8-10 feet high several times, once even upside down. After the inverted crash I had to push the motors back into their mounts so the gears engaged again, but every time it flew nicely afterward.

After a crash I let it sit for a moment to give the electronics a chance to settle down. A friend told me about shutting the Tx off for a few seconds and then back on while the battery is still plugged in. He says that lets everything reset itself - I tried it and it doesn't lose the bind. You can even shut the Tx off in flight and the thing lands itself!

I'm sure I haven't reached the severity or number of crashes that others have, but I'm amazed that there has been no damage to this thing so far.

same story with mine. would climb vertical at full throttle relatively stable when it was new, but after 30 flights or so that's not the case. full throttle is pretty much useless, lol. doesn't really bother me too much until it's time to throttle up and recover out of a low loop or something; then things get hairy. it probably wouldn't hurt to change my props though; one's pretty beat up...

the dog has never liked any of my RCs... I use to entertain myself for hours with him when I had my Traxxas mini

I started experimenting with spray painting propellers many months ago, I probably painted 30 blades before they came out with their orange blades. And this is my second attempt at painting the body.
